You don't have the book I'm looking for. Can you recommend other
book sites?
To order a book from my catalogs you need to do the following:
1. Contact me...
via my Order Form
via e-mail at gail@gailsbooks.com
via standard (snail) mail at:
Gail's Books
PO Box 3081
Richland, WA 99354
USA
via phone at:
(509) 946-0333
(Please note I'm on PST and don't necessarily keep regular working hours)
Be sure to list the titles and authors of the books you are interested in. If I
have multiple copies in my catalog, be sure to specify which copy you are
interested in. (ie. the paperback copy or the Book Club edition, etc.)
Different copies of the same title often have different prices associated with
them.
Unless otherwise requested, to an US address, I mail media mail and charge for
shipping & handling $4 for the first book, $2 for each additional book.
2-3 day priority mail is also available and will be calculated on an order by
order basis. (See How do you calculate shipping &
handling? for other postage options.)
2. Send payment....
via check or money order
Please make it out to "Gail Sanders" for the full cost (including
s&h) and mail to:
Gail Sanders
PO Box 3081
Richland, WA 99354
USA
via PayPal
Let me know that you wish to pay by PayPal and I will send a "request
money" invoice through the PayPal site for the full cost, with s&h. PayPal is my preferred payment option,
because of the lowest costs to me.
via Credit Card
I can accept VISA, MC, American Express, and Discover. Please provide your credit card
information through my Order Form. This is a secure site.
3. I will try to mail your order within one or two days of receiving. If for
some reason there will be a delay in mailing, you will be notified.

This is an inventory code to help me track consignment sales. All books are currently stored here, in Richland, Washington.
How many copies of each
title do you have available?
If I have multiple listings of the same title (ie. one for a paperback, one
for a Book Club edition, etc.) or if I specifically say "2 copies"
this means I have more than one copy available of this title. Otherwise I only
have one copy available at this time. If interested in multiple copies,
please let me know; I'd be happy to
contact you if I pick up additional copies later.

Do you accept orders via
standard (snail) mail?
Most happily. ;-) I am always pleasantly surprised to receive an order via standard mail that I was not expecting from my e-mail contacts; it adds an extra bit of spice to waiting for the mail to arrive. Because I am updating my catalogs regularly, however, occasionally you may find that a book you have ordered via a standard letter has already been sold/promised through an e-mail contact. If this happens, I will send you a refund check (including the cost of the book, plus s&h).
When writing out a check for a standard mail order, be sure to include the
total cost of the books, plus s&h. Please see How do you
calculate shipping & handling? if you will be ordering via standard
mail. As long as your s&h estimate seems reasonable, I'll mail off the
books as soon as possible.

Though I prefer to receive payment through PayPal (which does allow you to pay by credit card), because of the lower fees involved, I can also accept VISA, MC, Discover, and American Express. Please use my Order Form to give me your credit card info.
Yes, I am now accepting PayPal. If you wish to pay by PayPal, please let me
know and I will send a "request money" invoice through the PayPal
site for the full amount. The book will be shipped upon receipt of payment
through this service.

Though I personally prefer e-mail for doing business, if you feel more comfortable calling in your order, you can reach me at (509) 946-0333. Please note I am on PST time and don't necessarily keep regular working hours. I do have an answering machine, however, where you can leave a message.
How do you calculate shipping
& handling?
For US orders, unless otherwise requested, I mail books media mail. The simple formula that I use that seems to work pretty well is $4 for the first book, $2 for each additional book. 3-6 day priority mail is also available and will be calculated on an order by order basis. Most books can be mailed priority for $5.75 (if it will fit into a flat rate priority envelope) or $10 (if it will fit into a flat rate box).
My postage option of choice for non-US packages, when available, is Global Priority. Most books will fit into a Priority Mail International flat rate envelope and can be mailed for $10.50 to Canada or Mexico, or $12 to most other countries. Not all countries, however, can accept Priority Mail International, and not all books will fit into the envelopes. It is best, therefore, to query regarding postage options if you are a non-US customer.
Do you accept orders
from outside the US?
Yes, absolutely. My preferred form for payment is PayPal, however, I can also accept payment by VISA and MC. Shipping costs outside the US will be calculated on an order by order basis. Please query for shipping quotes.
How long should it take my
book order to arrive?
I use the US Postal Service for my mailing. Media mail to a US address can be slow, taking up to 3 weeks (usually within 1-2 weeks) to arrive. Priority mail to a US address should arrive within 3 business days.
Mailing surface mail outside North America may take up to 6 to 8 weeks, depending on the country, sometimes longer. Most Global Priority and airmail packages will arrive within 7 to 10 business days.
If your book doesn't arrive after a reasonable time (a month to a US
address, three months to an international address), we can discuss having your
money refunded. (Please see Can I get a refund?)

I live in the Tri-Cities
and don't want to pay postage... do you offer local pickup?
All my books are stored here, in Richland. I can have the book left at Sheldon Library, a local walk-in used bookstore in Uptown Richland. The cost for this service is $1 (which is then paid to Sheldon's, for use of their facilities). I will need to receive payment before I will drop off the book.
Here's the three reasons I can see for a valid refund request:
1. The book never arrived. My current policy is that if a book hasn't
arrived within a month of my mailing (to a US address; outside US mailing can
take considerably longer), I will send a full refund (including s&h), with
the understanding that the customer receives first option on any further copies
found of this title. It is understood, of course, that the customer (I hope)
will contact me if the book does eventually show. ;-)
2. The book's condition didn't fit the description. If for any reason
you are not happy with the book's condition and you felt my description given
via e-mail/my book catalog was misleading or incomplete, you may return the
book for a full refund (including s&h).
3. The book wasn't what you thought it was. If for some reason you are
disappointed with the content of the book (ie. wasn't quite what you thought it
was), and you would like to return it, you may, with the understanding that you
will receive only a refund for the cost of the book, not s&h. This is
because I sold the book in good faith, assuming that you knew this was the book
you wanted. If you have any questions about a book's content, please don't
hesitate to ask before placing your order.
In the last two cases, the refund will be sent upon receipt of the book.

Can you send me your catalogs
by e-mail?
You bet! Just drop me a note at gail@gailsbooks.com,
being sure to specify which catalogs you are interested in. As you can see, I
have quite a few.

Do you have a walk-in book
store I can visit?
No, 'fraid not. Mail order only, sorry!

You don't have the book I'm
looking for. Can you recommend other book sites?
The two best places to do out-of-print book searches on the web are the Advanced Book Exchange and Alibris. If you think your wanted title may still be in print and would prefer a new copy, I would recommend searching at Amazon. This site has the largest listing of in print titles available on the Web.
For the best prices on new Christian titles, I recommend Christian Book Distributors (CBD/Christianbook.com).
You can also always try searching Google.
