Charles Sanders, writer, researcher and teacher has authored over 120 peer-reviewed publications in experimental cancer research and toxicology during the last 30 years.
Dr. Sanders received a Ph.D. from the School of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Rochester and spent two years as an Atomic Energy Commission post-doctoral fellow. During the last 28 years he has carried out research into the causes of cancer at Washington State University and Pacific Northwest Laboratory in Richland, WA and the Inhalation Toxicology Research Institute in Albuquerque, NM. He has chaired and edited several international symposia on cancer and toxicology.
Dr. Sanders was on the faculty at the University of Washington and Washington State University from 1976 to 1996, where he taught courses at Washington State University on nutrition, cancer, and writing. He is a member of the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology and several other professional societies. Dr. Sanders is currently a teaching fellow with the International Institute for Christian Studies and plans to teach Radiobiology and Environmental Health overseas beginning in the Fall of 2004.
Dr. Sanders is married with five children and seven grandchildren. He was prompted to write this book because of his family's experience in caring for his teenage son with brain cancer and his ongoing interest in the application of dietary and lifestyle principles to health. He recognized the need for peer-reviewed unprejudiced information concerning diet, nutrition and cancer for health professionals and others concerned about their personal or family health.
